Reviewing proposed edits

The Edits panel collects specific text changes proposed by Formatter and other review features. Each item stays pending until a project member accepts or dismisses it.

Read a proposal

A proposal identifies the chapter, current text, suggested replacement, and the feature that produced it. Open the item or its manuscript highlight to inspect the surrounding paragraph before deciding.

Accept or dismiss

  • Accept applies the displayed replacement to the anchored text.
  • Dismiss keeps the manuscript unchanged and closes the proposal.
  • Keep spelling keeps the current form and adds it to the project dictionary when the proposal is a spelling or house-style check.

If the manuscript changed after the proposal was created, Enspeller may be unable to apply it safely. Review the current passage and edit it directly or request a fresh check.

Review several Formatter items

Use the Edits panel filters to focus on the open chapter or a particular source of proposals. Formatter items can be reviewed in a batch when they remain valid, but inspect replacements that affect names, dialogue, or intentional style individually.

Project dictionary

Open Settings → Formatter to view enabled rules, choose a house-style preset, and maintain accepted project spellings. Dictionary words apply across the project rather than only the current chapter.

History and reversal

Accepted proposals appear in Critic → History & restore with their actor and producer. A reversible entry can be reverted while the affected text still matches the accepted replacement. Later edits may make a targeted revert unsafe; use a restore point for broader historical recovery.
