Getting started

Enspeller brings drafting, manuscript organization, evidence-backed review, and revision history into one workspace. This guide takes you from an empty account to a useful first review.

Choose how to begin

From Home, choose one of these paths:

• New project creates a project, its first manuscript, and a starter chapter.
• Import manuscripts brings in .docx, Markdown, or plain-text files after you review the detected chapter boundaries.
• Guided example opens a ready-made project you can explore without risking your own draft.

If you are unsure, start with the guided example. You can edit or archive it like an ordinary project.

The workspace at a glance

• Home contains projects and the manuscripts inside them.
• Manuscript opens the chapter binder, writing surface, and contextual inspector.
• Critic contains findings, structure, revision comparison, history and restore points, and Bookclub.
• Canon contains story facts and project References.
• Ask contains evidence-backed questions and the longer-form Discourse mode.
• Settings contains account, plan, team, project, analysis, and writing-view controls.

Inside a manuscript, the binder on the left moves between chapters. The panel on the right gives quick access to Canon, findings, structure, proposed edits, and Ask. Both side panels can be hidden independently.

Write or import

Open a manuscript and select a chapter in the binder. Changes save locally as you work. The status in the top bar tells you whether the current device is synced, working offline, or reconnecting.

Use the floating toolbar for common formatting. More formatting contains headings, lists, block quotes, and writing-view spacing without filling the screen with permanent controls.

Run your first review

1. Open Critic → Findings.
2. Select Run full pass when you want the available manuscript reviewed.
3. Keep writing or leave the page while the pass runs.
4. Open a finding and inspect its evidence in the manuscript.
5. Resolve a settled issue, or mark a deliberate choice Intentional.

Analysis availability and scope depend on the active plan and remaining usage. Settings → Usage & plan shows the current allowance and reset date before you start larger work.

Build a reliable project record

• Confirm important facts in Canon.
• Add research or earlier-series material under Canon → References.
• Use Ask for a specific question and follow its citations.
• Create a manual point in History & restore before a major revision.
• Use Revision comparison to measure what changed since that point.

Before sharing or submitting

Open Export from the manuscript toolbar. Choose a submission-ready Word file, a review-friendly Word file, Markdown, or plain text. Export settings are independent from the typeface and spacing you use while writing.
