How analysis works

Enspeller reviews the parts of your project you choose and connects its results to the material that supports them. Understanding evidence, scope, and freshness makes every analysis feature easier to use.

What a result contains

• Evidence links a result back to a manuscript passage, Canon fact, or Reference.
• Confidence indicates how strongly the available evidence supports a finding. It is not a correctness score for your story.
• Freshness tells you whether a result reflects the current manuscript or may need another pass after substantial edits.
• Scope identifies the manuscript, chapters, or project material considered.

Always read the cited material before acting on a result. Fiction may contain intentional contradictions, unreliable narration, flashbacks, and delayed reveals that require author judgment.

When analysis runs

Small updates may be processed in the background according to the project's analysis mode. Run Critic checks dirty evidence immediately through the same incremental path. Complete manuscript reads—such as Full manuscript pass on the Critic page or a Bookclub session—start only when you request them. The full Critic control shows whole-manuscript scope and warns about its substantially higher credit use before confirmation. All of these run asynchronously, so you can continue working while they complete.

The first manuscript import is indexed immediately when eligible; it does not wait for the quiet window used to coalesce later edits.

If the manuscript has unsynced changes, Enspeller waits for the reviewable copy to catch up. Your editor remains available throughout.

Evidence and confidence

A finding is a question supported by manuscript evidence, not a verdict. Read the cited passages, consider the confidence, and decide whether the issue is corrected, intentional, or still open.

Ask and Discourse answers can combine manuscript passages, confirmed Canon, and relevant References. Citations identify which source supports each claim. A Reference may provide context, but it does not prove that an event happened in the manuscript.

Proposed changes

When a feature suggests a specific text change, the proposal appears in Edits. Compare the current and proposed text, then accept or dismiss it. Your decision is recorded in project history.

Usage and plan limits

Analysis features use the account's current AI allowance. Open Settings → Usage & plan to see the remaining balance, active work, recent usage, and reset date. Reaching the limit pauses new analysis; it does not block editing, local saving, sync, Formatter checks, history, or export.

If a result seems out of date

1. Check the save and sync status in the top bar.
2. Open the result and inspect its freshness or revision label.
3. Use Run Critic to check recent changes immediately.
4. After major revisions, use the Critic page's Full manuscript pass only when you need a complete re-evaluation.

Data handling

Requested analysis processes only the project material needed for that task. Consult Enspeller's current Privacy Notice from Settings → Account for the complete, controlling description of data processing and subprocessors.
