Appearance
Desktop app
The desktop app provides a focused Enspeller window, native file handling, and resilient access to locally available work. It uses the same account and synced projects as the browser studio.
macOS
The current universal Mac installer supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 11 or later.
- Open Settings → Desktop app or the public Downloads page.
- Download the Mac installer.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation steps.
- Launch Enspeller and sign in with the same account used in the browser.
The application is signed and uses its update check to notify you when a newer release is available. Use Help → Check for Updates to install an available update.
Windows
The Windows desktop application is not yet available. Use the browser studio on Windows until the signed installer appears in Settings → Desktop app.
Browser and desktop together
Synced projects follow the active account across both. Do not edit the same passage independently on multiple offline devices unless you are prepared to review the merged result when they reconnect.
Offline expectations
Previously available local chapters remain editable through brief connection loss. New analysis, Reference indexing, team administration, billing changes, and other connected actions wait for a connection.
Updates and troubleshooting
- If an update is available, save current work and use the Help menu action.
- If no update is found, the application reports that it is current.
- If the app cannot reconnect, keep it open until manuscript changes show as synced before reinstalling or clearing local data.
