Structure
Structure maps scenes, tension, pacing movement, and observed narrative shape. It compares the manuscript with the selected template without declaring one shape universally correct.
Story time and telling order
Chronology tracks when events happen in the story separately from when the reader learns them. A flashback is not automatically a continuity problem.
Use the map
Look for long flat spans, abrupt turns without setup, or climactic events that arrive earlier or later than intended. Open a scene to inspect its underlying passage before deciding whether to revise.
